Compare a quiet month and a busy month
Estimate your usual scheduled volume, then repeat the calculation for a quieter month and your peak period. Routific counts a unique order when scheduled to a route; re-optimising it does not create another charge for the same order. [1]
A free tier may be sufficient for a low-volume operation. Do not pay for an extra membership simply because its feature list sounds broader. Assess whether Drive It’s booking workflow and eligible network access offer value you will actually use.
Look beyond getting the route onto a phone
A driver needs the right order reference, access details and customer instructions at each address. Try a day with multiple items, an unsuccessful delivery and a customer asking for confirmation afterwards. [2]
Routific’s help centre explains how dispatchers review the evidence attached to an order. In Drive It, test your own completion flow and whether the resulting record answers your customers’ questions. The most useful comparison is the entire job, including the follow-up.
Keep growth assumptions realistic
If you expect to add drivers, request an account configuration and price for that future team. A single Drive It membership should not be treated as a quotation for every driver and office user in an expanding company.
For your current owner-driver operation, start with work you already serve. Use the trial to record bookings, review routes and complete POD. Treat possible additional jobs as opportunities to evaluate, not guaranteed revenue that will cover the subscription.
